APPOINTMENTS
All new clients will receive a psychiatric evaluation. Evaluations are 60 minutes for adults and 90 minutes for children and adolescents (under 18 years of age). A legal guardian or parent must be present for child/adolescent evaluations as information from family is vital to the session.
The initial evaluation is considered a consultation, as it is an opportunity for both the patient and practitioner to decide whether they are a good fit for ongoing care (individuals are responsible for the consultation fee regardless). If ongoing care is agreed upon, follow-up appointments are 20-30 minutes.
MEDICAL INSURANCE
Lauren Tabone is an "out of network" provider with all insurance companies. If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, we will be happy to assist you by supplying bills, diagnosis and other information that is requested by your carrier for reimbursement. Patients are responsible for submitting their own claims if they choose to do so. We cannot guarantee reimbursement.
MEDICATIONS
In order for psychotropic medication to be prescribed safely and effectively, regular monitoring for side-effects/adverse reactions is necessary. Depending on the medication, this can include monitoring vital signs and weight as well as blood work in conjunction with a clinical assessment. While medication is being increased or decreased, appointments may need to be scheduled at more frequent intervals, such as weekly.
PAYMENT OF FEES
Payments are due at the time of the visit via check or credit card. All patients are required to keep an active credit card on file (used for missed appointments, late cancellations, letters & family conferences). Please call to inquire regarding cost of sessions.
OFFICE COVERAGE
If Lauren Tabone is out of office, the covering provider's contact information will be available on Lauren's answering machine and automatic email reply. For non-urgent issues, you may call the covering provider, who will respond in 48 business hours. For emergencies, call 911. Controlled substances will not be renewed by the covering provider and will require an appointment with Lauren Tabone.
